Research: Redundancies in Journalism*

I am currently working on a project focusing on redundancies in the journalism sector. I am looking to interview journalists who have been made redundant (or taken voluntary redundancy) in the past 12 months about their experiences.

Here is some key logistical information about the process:

  • The interviews will be confidential and anonymous (although I request that if possible they be safely recorded by me for the sake of accuracy).

  • I expect the interviews to take at least about 90 minutes each, and I would come to a location convenient to you.

  • I am happy to provide a small honorarium of £50 as a thank you for your time.

If you are a UK-based journalist, who fits the above criteria and are interested in learning more about this research, please email me at a.h.rao@lse.ac.uk.

*I am focusing on U.K.-based journalists for now, but intend to expand out to U.S.-based journalists in the near future. Please feel free to contact me about any of this.
